TV3 – Lily James says it will take her “whole life” to process her dad’s death.
The ‘Cinderella’ star tragically lost her father when she was just 19-years-old but admits she did gain strength from her bereavement.

She said: “He had cancer. That’s sort of why my experience of drama school is pretty unique – it happened whilst I was there. I think that will take the whole of my life (to process his death).”

“I had a scene (in ‘Cinderella) where I was told my dad had died, so it was really hard, but I feel what’s important in the film is that Cinderella gains strength from her loss and that was something I could… That was in me. It’s s**t (not having him around).”

And Lily, 25, only has fond memories of her father.

She added: “He was just a big kid. I always remember we’d get bored first building sandcastles.”

Meanwhile, the actress also admitted to being mischievous when she was younger.

When asked how she was naughty as a child, she told The Sunday Times’ Style magazine: “Mainly in underage drinking – and boys! I am a hard worker, though, so when it came to revising I was a massive geek.”

And when questioned about still being crazy about boys now, she added: “Yeah, maybe that’s why I like princesses. There’s nothing wrong with falling in love and sharing your life with someone.”

TV3 – Lily James is a “London girl”.

The ‘Cinderella’ star may be becoming a household name across the world but she has no plans to move to Hollywood.
She said: “I don’t want to move to America. That’s not me at all. I’m such a London girl and I love it here – I can’t see myself leaving Britain.”

And the ‘Downton Abbey’ star believes she has the period drama to thank for “opening doors” for her across the pond.

She told the Daily Star on Sunday newspaper: “Downton has opened so many doors for me. In America they just love it, which is great. I certainly get a lot of auditions now that I’d never have got before.”

The 25-year-old actress will be back in London soon to star as the lead role in a stage version of the Shakespeare classic ‘Romeo and Juliet’ and whilst she admits she is excited about playing one half of the star-crossed lovers, she wishes she could play a role that is less “iconic” as it ups her “stress levels”.

She said: “I’m really excited about it. It’s such early days. I just need to read it again, and read it and read it. Put it under my pillow and dream about it… I want to do something [that’s] not iconic next. I think part of my stress levels are due to the fact that there is a lot of pressure playing these roles. Maybe one of them I’ll conquer – not that you ever could, because they’re too vast.”

“The Jonathan Ross Show” episode featuring Lily aired on ITV last night and she made quite an impression! She talked about ‘Cinderella’ and ‘Pride and Prejudice and Zombies’. I also added some stills from her TV appearance in our gallery.

Lily James shares her experience whilst filming where she was surrounded by zombies, which were all dummies. She had to brutally kick one in the head, but it later revealed to be an extra with makeup.

Lily and Richard Madden are still promoting ‘Cinderella’ and today (March 20), they were on ITV’s “This Morning” to talk about the film.
