HARPER’S BAZAAR – ON CINDERELLA
“In Cinderella we really wanted her to be a strong heroine in charge of her own destiny despite adversity. She lived by her mother’s words ‘have courage and be kind and all will be well’. And that allowed her to be in charge of her happiness and to try and rise above the cruelty. I think that’s a beautiful message. These classic princesses are often also free-spirited, brave, kind and long for more from life then what is conventionally planned for them, and that’s much more important for young girls then the part about the handsome prince saving the day.”ON PRINCE CHARMING
“There is also nothing wrong with old fairy tale romance. You just want to have both. You must always follow your heart and your own dreams, and you don’t need a prince for that.”ON FUTURE ROLES
“I’d like to do something totally different, modern, more raw and stripped back. It’s important to keep challenging yourself and pushing yourself in different directions, then you have to start really using your imagination so you’re not just relying on what you know and your own instincts. I want to feel terrified and totally out of my depth in my next role.”ON ELIE SAAB
“The Elie Saab gowns are a work of art. I knew immediately once I put them on I wanted to wear them. I felt so elegant and regal. The green one I wore to the LA premiere almost felt like a second skin and it felt modern too. It made me feel so confident that I couldn’t wait to get on the red carpet, and that doesn’t happen very often.”ON WORKING WITH BURBERRY
“I have to admit, that since working with Burberry it sort of changed my life because now I can just put a trench over anything – jeans, silk pyjamas, anything and still look cool.”ON MIDDLE EASTERN BEAUTY
“On the Harper’s Bazaar shoot I loved having slightly heavier eye make-up. I love how eyes seem to be so accentuated in Middle Eastern beauty, I felt the eyes were really the window to the soul.”ON CHRISTMAS
“We always watch Love Actually, every year. I have decided to buy some new board games this year, my granny is going to bring Beetle Drive. It’s brilliant,” she laughs. “I love being home with my family. Decorating the Christmas tree always makes me very happy.”
