RADIOTIMES – There’s much excitement in TV drama circles about ITV’s lavish eight-part drama Victoria charting the early life of the great Monarch.

But who to play her?

RadioTimes.com can reveal that ITV is aiming high and has a list of possibles which is big on the glam stakes for the Daisy Goodwin-scripted spectacular which starts filming in the autumn for broadcast next year.

Casting folk are sizing up Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke (Mother of Dragons’ Daenerys Targaryen) as well as Downton’s Lady Rose herself, the actress Lily James.

Model/actress Cara Delevingne is another contender and, if that’s not enough, actress, model and Kick-Ass star Chloe Grace Moretz is also being considered.

Last but not least on the list is Doctor Who star Jenna Coleman who, if tabloid reports about her friendship with Prince Harry are to be believed, could one day become proper royalty herself….

Made by the production company behind Poldark, Mammoth Screen, the drama will imagine Britain’s longest reigning monarch “who leaves childhood behind when she ascends the throne at the tender age of 18.”

BROADWAY – It would seem that Downton Abbey’s Lily James really has found her prince in Game of Thrones’ Richard Madden! The pair, who will soon be seen in the Kenneth Branagh-helmed live-action version of Cinderella, will headline Romeo and Juliet for the director in London’s West End. According to the Daily Mail, the production of Shakespeare’s classic will begin performances at the Garrick Theatre in October.

James’ stage credits include Vernon God Little, The Seagull and Othello. Madden previously played the lead in Romeo and Juliet for the Globe Theatre; other stage credits include Noughts and Crosses.

Romeo and Juliet is set in Verona, Italy, and tells the story of two young lovers whose noble families are locked in a bitter feud. They try to defy the circumstances that forbid their love, with heartbreaking results. The play was last seen on Broadway in 2013 starring Orlando Bloom and Condola Rashad.

According to the Daily Mail, Lily has joined the cast of ‘Adam Jones’ alongside Bradley Cooper and Sienna Miller. We do not have more information about it, her name is just mentioned but it could be the new project Lily talked about in her interview for Glamour.

DAILY MAIL – Yum, yum! Culinary fever has hit the movies. Ovens are hot!

Sienna Miller will play a sous chef in the new Bradley Cooper film Adam Jones.
Cooper plays the title character: a genius cook who returns to London after a period away from the kitchen, detoxifying.

Now he wants a third Michelin star, and assembles an A-list line-up to help him.

Many of the actors spent a day with Marcus Wareing at his two Michelin-starred Marcus restaurant at the Berkeley in Knightsbridge, to prepare for their roles.

Sienna practised her chopping skills, and watched how Wareing and his colleagues worked their magic with food. (The actress has been busy: she’s been shooting another film, Black Mass, with Johnny Depp, in which she has to age from 28 to 76.)

Adam Jones, which has a script by Steven Knight, will start filming soon, in and around London.

Director John Wells and his casting team, with help no doubt from producer Harvey Weinstein, have gathered a cast that includes Emma Thompson, Daniel Bruhl, Riccardo Scamarcio (Italy’s answer to Brad Pitt), Lily James, Jamie Dornan and Alicia Vikander.

Cooper told me about Adam Jones (then titled Chef) two years ago. In the meantime, Jon Favreau made his own foodie movie, also called Chef, which has developed a cult following.

Then there’s The 100-Foot Journey, an enormously charming tale of rival restaurateurs in France, starring Helen Mirren and Om Puri, which will open on September 5 (it also features Manish Dayal and Charlotte LeBon).

Why are these movies so popular? Oscar-winning Helen summed it up succinctly. ‘We all like to eat.

UPDATE: Our friends at Bleeding Cool report new “Cinderella” Lily James is also in the mix, and Stone is unlikely to take the role despite repeated overtures from the studio.

Emma Stone and Margot Robbie are the newest names linked to Warner Bros’ back-on “Tarzan” reboot starring Alexander Skarsgard, according to Variety. Christoph Waltz is now being eyed for the film’s villain role as well.

The film is still awaiting a greenlight, though producers and director David Yates are expecting it to come in November with a planned summer start date, and are putting together the cast to present to the studio. Jessica Chastain had previously been sought for the Jane role but she’s probably a little too busy these days, so Robbie and Stone are reportedly among the actresses now being considered. No negotiations have begun with any of them yet, however. The new version of the Edward Rice Burroughs’ tale is set years after Tarzan has reintegrated back into human society. One day, “he’s asked by Queen Victoria to investigate the goings-on in the Congo. Tarzan teams with an ex-mercenary named George Washington Williams to save the Congo from a fierce warlord who controls a massive diamond mine.” Samuel L. Jackson was previously reportedly being eyed for the role of the mercenary, though there’s no mention of him in the new report.

Warner Bros is clearly high on rising star Robbie, the Aussie newcomer who headlined shortlived ABC series “Pan Am.” Not only does she play the female lead in Martin Scorsese’s “The Wolf of Wall Street” opposite Leonardo Dicaprio, they also recently cast her for the female lead role in grifter rom com “Focus” opposite Will Smith. Stone is always in demand and lands high profile roles left and right. After wrapping a reprisal of Gwen Stacy in “The Amazing Spider-Man 2,” she headed off to France to film Woody Allen’s latest film opposite Colin Firth, and is next scheduled to do Cameron Crowe’s “Deep Tiki” opposite Bradley Cooper.
